HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR
CHRISTMAS TREE
v Tina’s Trees makes a fresh cut on each tree to open up the pores, which have been clogged by sap. We immediately fill the bowl with water while it is on the lot.
v As soon as you get your tree home, fill the bowl with warm water and check the stand for leaks.
v Water daily. An average tree may consume between a quart and a gallon of water per day. If the water level drops below the cut end of the trunk, a seal will form and water will stop being absorbed by the tree unless another fresh cut is made. So don’t forget to add water every day.
v Mini-lights produce minimum heat. Always check light sets for frayed or cracked wire insulation and broken sockets before placing them on a tree.
v Please keep the tree away from heat sources such as heating vents, fireplace, wood stoves and fireplace inserts, radiators, television sets or sunny windows.
v Remove tree promptly. The city has a recycling program with designated drop off spots. Or if you would like to have your tree picked up, we recommend:
In addition to picking up your tree for recycling, they will drain the water from your stand and vacuum up the needles for a fee starting at $10.
